Job Profile

The candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting and developing networks for Velos products to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure and to provide maximum performance for our users.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the servers and computers that run Velos's network. This includes the local area network, wide area network, and hosted servers.
• Maintaining both the network's hardware and software.
• Recommending and improving hardware, infrastructure, and software.
• Maintaining both the security and usability of the network and telecommunication equipment.
• Providing technical support to the employees and consultants of the company, and ensuring compliance on data backup and disaster recovery.
• Assisting in the specification, ordering, purchasing, asset-traking, implementation, and inventory management of IT infrastructure equipment, supplies, and software.
• Supporting and architecting core IT services for as Linux and Windows servers, virtualization, file and print sharing, FTP, backups, and security and network infrastructure.
• Providing high-availability support for web servers, application servers, and network infrastructure.
• Managing and administering network infrastructure to ensure high availability end-to-end monitoring of systems for both performance and availability.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• Experience with Linux and Windows
• A strong understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
• Well-organized with the ability to multitask
• Reputable interpersonal skills to establish strong working relationships

• Must have an ability to monitor system configuration, conduct system upgrades, install patches, and build new servers
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work odd hours and handle on-call duties
